Little elm Firefighters association

Local 4220

Our purpose

The goal of the Little Elm Firefighters Association (LEFFA) is to represent our committed members by maintaining an open and healthy relationship with the Town of Little Elm and the citizens we serve while maintaining that balance of protecting our members. Our priority will always be to protect your jobs, secure better wages, benefits, working conditions, rights and retirement security while providing better services to our community. Our responsibility is to identify and address the issues, concerns, and/or grievances of our members. The LEFFA takes great pride in giving back & staying involved in our community. We are always looking for new opportunities to find a need and fill a need within the community we serve.

LEFFA, Local 4220, is one of over 3,300 local unions across the United States and Canada, made-up of over 320,000 firefighters, all part of the IAFF. Our Association is about participating together to provide a strong cohesive force. There is power in numbers at a local, state, and national level.

By  becoming a member of the LEFFA you are also becoming part of the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF) and The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). Going forward, the success of our Local, TSAFF, and the IAFF depends in part on our new members to embrace the association’s legacy, focus on the challenges ahead and build a bigger, greater, and stronger association for future generations of professional fire fighters.

As members of Little Elm L4220, we actively contribute to the IAFF & TSAFF to help:

- Create and support legislation on behalf of firefighters and paramedics, as well as play an active part at the national level to elect politicians who support the IAFF and fire fighter issues.

- Advocate to give all firefighters the right to discuss workplace issues with their employer, as well as assist local and state affiliates in gaining bargaining rights.

- Partner with other national organizations in support of retirement security and pension protections.

- Work to establish federal grant programs to fund training and equipment and to hire fire fighters and maintain safe staffing levels.

- Educate lawmakers, both at state and national level, who make the decisions affecting your job and benefits.

What is the association doing for me?

The short answer… The Association has already done it.  It is now up to you to help protect it for future generations.

Every benefit that we enjoy today can be traced to the efforts of labor unions. Our responsibility is to protect them and to continue to improve them for the next generation.
